DANGEROUS DOG - 1400 BLOCK W. KING ST.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2014 @ 11:30 A.M. - WYBPD and WYAMB are both dispatched to respond to the 1400 block of W. King St. for a mailman reporting that he was attacked and bitten by a pit bull on the front porch of a duplex located within the block.
 
@ 11:32 A.M. - WYBPD met with the bite victim, Chad WAGNER, a letter carrier for the USPS assigned to one of the West York Borough delivery routes.
 
WAGNER had visible punctures on two seperate areas of his legs, stating to the patrolman that a pit bull jumped through a screen door of 1435 W. King St., attacked him and ended up biting him on two locations of the lower areas of his legs.
 
EMT's and USPS supervisors also responeded to this scene and WAGNER was transported by WYAMB to an area hospital.
 
WYBPD interviewed neighboring residents that confirmed the account of the dog attack provided by WAGNER.
 
The owner of this dog was identified as Amanda WHITE, 29 YOA W/F, residing at 1435 W. King St.  WHITE stated to the patrolman that the pit bull's name was "BEAST" and that the door latch mechanism to her front storm door was broken, and for some time now, rendering her  unable to secure that door.  
 
Further investigation revealed that BEAST was unlicenced and also not up to date with rabies vaccination. 
 
WHITE was found to be in violation of four separate offenses of the PA State Dog Law and four (4) summons were filed with District Court 19-2-05 against her.
 
1)  Dog Law - Dangerous Dog
2)  Dog Law - Failure to Confine Dog
3)  Dog Law - Failure to Vaccinate Dog / Rabies
4)  Dog Law - Failure to License Dog
 
WHITE has been cited in the past by WYBPD for previous violations of the State Dog Law and Borough Ordinances concerning Dogs.
 
The State Dog Warden and SPCA were also contacted regarding this incident for further action.
