On 11/20/13 at 5:45 p.m. WYBPD was radio dispatched to respond to a 911 caller who reported shots fired with an injured victim in the 1400 block W. King St. 
The gunshot victim was located and has been identified as William Terrell, 37, residing within the 100 block of S. Highland Ave., West York Borough.
Terrell was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to York Hospital via ambulance. Terrell, who was initially conscious and alert, did undergo emergency surgery and later died, succumbing to his wounds at York Hospital. 
A responding West York Borough Patrolman observed a subject matching the description in the 1400 block W. Philadelphia St. walking west. The subject fled on foot north towards through residential yards towards the 1400 block of Stanton Street when he saw the officers. 
Numerous officers from York City, West Manchester Township, deputies from York County Sheriff’s Office, all converged in this area a perimeter to look for the subject. 
Two police canines also responded and assisted in this search, one from Springettsbury Township PD and the other from the York County Sheriff’s Office. 
This suspect was able to successfully elude police prior to perimeter being established. 
The suspect is described as a black male, unknown age, tall and slender last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue or black jeans/pants. 
In addition to seeking the suspect, WYBPD are also investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
