FIREARMS VIOLATION - N. HIGHLAND AVE. @ WORTH ST.

7/11/13 @ 2:00 P.M. - A WYBPD patrolman perfromed a traffic stop on a black Ford sedan bearing Pennsylvania registration for displaying an expired 6/13 registration plate.  
 
The adult male operator of this vehicle consented to the patrolman's request to search his vehicle.   Under the driver's seat, the patrolman discovered an unholstered loaded Smith & Wesson M&P .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was fully loaded with ammunition and affixed with a tactical weaponlight.
 
The driver was idenitified by his Pennsylvania Driver's License, as Jonathan SCALLION, 29 Y.O.A. W/M, residing within the 1400 block of W. College Avenue, West Manchester Township. 
 
SCALLION stated to the patrolman that he did not lawfully possess a Pennsylvania license/permit  to carry a concealed weapon.   The patrolman checked and confirmed this statement.  
 
Further investigation confirmed that the firearm was legally owned by SCALLION however he did not possess the required license to carry it concealed.    This weapon and ammunition were seized and placed into evidence.
 
SCALLION was then placed into custody and transported to Central Booking for processing for the following offenses;
 
1)  PACC 6106 (a) (2) Firearm Not to Be Carried Without a License - 1st degree Misdemeanor
2)  PAVC 1301 (a) Registration and Certificate of Title Required - summary traffic offense
 
SCALLION was released after processing and the aforementioned charges shall be filed through the magistrate by the arresting patrolman.
