DISORDERLY SUBJECT ASSAULTS POLICE - GIANT FOODS
1/1/2013 - 1:37:00 PM
1/1/13 @ 1:37 P.M. - WYBPD radio dispatched to 1200 W. Market St., Giant Foods Store, for a report of two disorderly persons at the front office refusing to leave the store and to be giving employees a hard time as well as causing a disturbance within the store.
1/1/13 @ 1:37 P.M. - Two WYBPD patrolmen did arrive at the Giant Store and met with all parties involved. A married couple, Jorge RAMOS, an adult H/M and wife, Johanny RODRIGUEZ, 27 Y.O.A H/F both residing within the 1st block of N. Belvidere Ave. York City. This couple reported that they received a counterfeit "20.00 Dollar bill" after a transaction they cashed in a money order, the day prior, at this Giant. They were now upset as the store manager refused to exchange the counterfeit bill with an authentic $20.00 bill. The couple also went onto explain to the patrolmen that this was their only money left and needed it to purchase some food items for their children. Believing their report to be true and seeing how upset the parents were, one patrolman offered to purchase the food out of his own pocket.
This was still unsatisfactory to the female, RODRIGUEZ. She responded to this offer belligerently and by yelling and pounding on the store's counter top. The patrolmen verbally warned her to cease this behavior and she responded by pounding on the counter tops violently and louder causing more ruckus.
Patrolmen then advised her she was under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and attempted to escort her from the store. RODRIGUEZ responded violently by physically resisting their attempts to control her, kicking, punching, screaming, etc. During this violent encounter RODRIGUEZ bit both patrolmen. The patrolmen were only able to restrain her without injuring her after deploying tasers.
Rodriguez was then transported to York Hospital to have taser darts removed and then she was taken forthwith to Central Booking for processing and arraignment for charges stemming from this incident; to wit Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.
